The House of the Risen Son
Lyrics & Music by Robbie Trice

It was 1971 in a little coffeehouse
Called the House of the Risen Son
The brothers and sisters all turned out
To give praise to the One who it was all about
At the House of the Risen Son

Love offerings were not high
But we were high on love
The fellowship was rich
And that was worth a million bucks
'Cause it was Friday night and it felt so right
To be free and young
At the House of the Risen Son

We sang “Pride of the Harbor”
And “I Saw the Light”
As someone’s son and daughter
Gave their life to the Spirit, Son and Father
And their sins were washed away
I guess sometimes I miss those good old days
At the House of the Risen Son

Up 17 to a little church in a Georgia town
They sang a hymn or two from their wooden pews
But they had never heard our sound
But when the Spirit came it was just the same
As where we just came from
At the House of the Risen Son

We sang “One In the Spirit”
And a hymn or two our way
How the blood of Jesus made us “Clean”
“On That Day”
As they came to the altar
The tears fell from our eyes
We couldn’t wait to get back home and testify
At the House of the Risen Son

“It Takes Faith” to move a mountain
But all my faith won’t move me there again
And though my memories can take me back
I can’t live in way back when

Now I’m 61 and got me a real nice house
But it’s my temporary home
And one day I’ll be moving out
And go to that great beyond
Where I’m gonna sing and shout
In the House of the Risen Son

And we’ll sing “Alpha and Omega”
And live in the light
And all God’s sons and daughters
Will reunite
And we’ll hear our Heavenly Father
Say well done
And we’ll rejoice with all His children
In the House of the Risen Son

In the House of the Risen Son
In the House of the Risen Son
In the House of the Risen Son
In the House of the Risen Son

The House of the Risen Son
In the House of the Risen Son
